Hit Follow Up

At Axxam, we are aware that the vast diversity of available targets is best addressed with an arsenal of highly diversified compounds coming from a variety of sources. For this reason, as part of our commitment to help our customers identify meaningful Hits faster, we offer high-throughput screening of both natural and synthetic compound collections.

Natural Compound Collection

An extensive collection of more than 100,000 different natural compounds is available to Axxam from our partner InterMed Discovery. It is the largest screenable collection of pure Natural Product compounds and extracts available worldwide. Biological sources comprise over 40,000 microbial strains and several thousand other sources including plant material, marine macroorganisms, and fruit bodies.

Synthetic Compound Collection

We have assembled our own synthetic compound collection. While we do not sell our library, we make it available to be screened for your target and assay format of interest on Axxam’s automated screening stations.

Axxam’s library, assembled from leading commercial suppliers, is currently composed of 105,000 unique compounds carefully selected by our medicinal and computational chemists for lead-like and drug-like characteristics, as well as chemical diversity. For the assembly of the library, we have screened in silico millions of commercially available compounds, applying a number of filters to select a set of compounds that can be an excellent starting point for the identification of small molecule hits. Particular attention was given to the choice of a structurally diverse group of compounds, to represent a large chemical space. We also selected compounds with predicted favorable physicochemical and pharmacokinetic (ADMET) characteristics, to minimize the number of compounds in the library with undesirable properties and produce hits with a high chance of progressing into suitable leads for optimization.
More than 80% of our compound collection has zero violations of the Lipinski 'Rule of 5' for oral drug-like properties, and more than 70% has zero violations of the Oprea criteria for lead-like properties.

Using Axxam’s compound collection means:
  • Exposing your target of choice to more than 100,000 carefully selected small molecules
  • Taking advantage of Axxam’s expertise in high throughput screening to identify meaningful Hits
  • Obtaining the structures for all of your selected Hits
  • Availability of compounds from commercial suppliers
