Stefan Lohmer
Stefan Lohmer is a co-founder of Axxam, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer. Stefan also oversees the Discovery Research group. Prior to the founding of Axxam, Stefan was head of the assay development unit at the Bayer Research Centre in Milan and head of Genomics worldwide for Bayer AG. He was responsible for generating and managing Bayer's external genomic alliances with Millennium and Lion Bioscience. He joined Bayer in 1992. Stefan has a degree in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry from the University of Cologne and did his PhD at the Max Planck Institute for Plant Breeding in Cologne.

Alessandro Sidoli
Alessandro Sidoli is a co-founder of Axxam and Chief Executive Officer. Alessandro was the founder of the Italian biotech company Primm, one of Italy's successful examples of biotech start-ups, and continues to act as Chairman. He is also Vice-President of Assobiotec, the Italian biotechnology industry association. Alessandro served as Director of Biotechnology Transfer at the San Raffaele Biomedical Science Park in Milan and previously as head of the Department of Biotechnology at the Istituto Sieroterapico Milanese in Milan. Alessandro received his degree in Biology and conducted research at the Sir William Dunn School of Pathology at the Oxford University, United Kingdom. He was later a Research Scientist at Farmitalia Carlo Erba in Milan.

Wolfgang Hartwig
Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Hartwig was most recently Executive Vice President and Head of Global Pharmaceuticals Research and Development at Bayer Healthcare. He previously held a variety of positions within the Bayer Healthcare organization including President and CEO of the Diagnostics Division of Bayer HealthCare and Head of Gobal Pharmaceuticals Research. He has served on public management and advisory boards including the Senatausschuss of the Helmholtz Association and the National Genome Research Initiative and is at present member of the board of numerous biotech and pharmaceutical companies. He has his own consulting firm and is Executive Consultant to the Bayer Holding Board. He holds a doctoral degree in organic chemistry from the University of Göttingen and is Honorary Professor at the Westfälische Wilhelms-University of Münster.

Giorgio Chirivì
Giorgio Chirivì works in Centrobanca SpA, the investment bank of BPU, one of the major Italian banking groups, engaged in mergers and acquisitions, securities and acquisition finance and IPO's. Prior to joining Centrobanca, Dr. Chirivì was the head of the corporate finance division for Arca BIM for 9 years and before that he was responsible for the merger and acquisition activities of the Credit Merchant Affairs Bank for the Credito Italiano group. He was formerly employed by the Credit Agricole group, or more precisely the Group's bank, Union d'Etudes et d'Investissements, where he was involved in mergers and acquisitions in both Paris and Milan. In 1986 Dr. Chirivì began his career at Reconta Touche Ross, a management and technology auditing company. He received his degree in Economics at the "Università Commerciale Luigi Bocconi" in Milan.
