Axxam is a discovery company focused on research programs for different applications in the life science industry. Our mission is to identify new active substances with potential applications in the life sciences, including pharmaceutical, agrichemical and flavour fields.

We are a privately owned biotech firm based at the San Raffaele Biomedical Science Park in Milan (Italy), with a team of about 60 highly skilled qualified personnel, most of them experienced scientists. Axxam began operations as an independent and privately-owned company in November 2001, but its’ roots are built upon years of experience as part of the Bayer HealthCare, Research and Development organization.

Our tools, core technologies and activities include a wide range of screening assays, specific assay development, high-throughput screening (HTS) campaigns, compound profiling and hits to leads activities. Axxam also provides access to several compound collections, both synthetic and natural, and conducts several discovery programs for selected targets which are carried out in partnership with other companies or no-profit organizations.

Axxam provides a complete range of discovery programs, services and technologies on a fee-for-service basis or through sponsored agreements involving a research budget, milestone payments and/or royalties. Furthermore, we carry out several proprietary discovery programs for the life science industry.
